Peak District - Hayfield

the art of slow living

A standard more readily expected from a boutique hotel.

Bridge End is a two-bedroom cottage finished to a standard you’d more readily expect from a boutique hotel than a Peak District holiday let. Every room has been considered in detail — from the book-matched stone in the family bathroom to the live-edge oak dining table in the kitchen — without ever losing the warmth and ease that makes a place feel genuinely restful.

It sleeps four adults comfortably, with a king double in Bedroom One (with its own en suite), and a characterful double in Bedroom Two sharing the spectacular family bathroom. The kitchen and dining space is as good for a slow breakfast as it is for an evening in. There’s no hot tub, no gimmicks — just a very well-made, very comfortable cottage in a remarkable village.

Rooted in History, Kinder Scout's Footstep.

The first written record of Hayfield is to be found in the Doomsday Book when it was called ‘Hedfeld’ and was a natural clearing in the vast forest at the foot of the Kinder Scout.
Today, the village is a popular destination for walkers and is renowned for its high quality gourmet public houses, art gallery and gift shop. It remains an authentic Peak District escape, balancing its historic soul with contemporary refinement.
